SUMMARY:How To Love Yourselfie
DESCRIPTION:How To Love Yourselfie\nSaturday April 25th\n \nRegister For This Event Here \nRegistration at 2:15 in YMCA Lobby \nWorkshop will wrap up by 5:30 \nThe Brooks Family YMCA \nCharlottesville\, VA \nCost: $35 per attendee \nWe are thrilled to be chosen as a community partner for the 2026 TOM TOM Festival\, featuring a special version of our program\, “How To Love Yourselfie.” The workshop will be facilitated by Debra Hopkins\, BTCF President. For more information and to register\, please visit the link in our bio! \nThe Tom Tom Festival theme is – Courage – and invites us to think about what it truly means to be brave. \nCourage isn’t always loud or dramatic. Sometimes\, the most powerful courage is quiet: the courage to be yourself in a world that constantly asks you to compare\, conform\, and filter who you are. “How To Love Yourselfie” is built around that idea. \nABOUT THE PROGRAM: This research-based social media literacy program consists of five modules\, each featuring videos and a workbook: \nLOVE YOURSELFIE: Promote real versus “ideal” body image. \nEXPLORE YOURSELFIE: Enhance self-awareness. \nHELP YOURSELFIE: Reduce perfectionism and increase self-compassion. \nBE YOURSELFIE: Engage in social media literacy. \nCHERISH YOURSELFIE: Encourage positive actions and embrace optimism. \nWHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR? \nAges 14 – 25 \nEveryBODY!

SUMMARY:7 CHAIRS PERFORMANCE
DESCRIPTION:7 CHAIRS PERFORMANCE\nPerformances: 11 am and 3 pm\n\n7 Chairs is an 8-minute live dance performance created and choreographed by BTCF Board Member\, Alex Little \nThe 7 CHAIRS performance offers a powerful\, vulnerable\, revealing\, and liberating experience. Through dance\, seven performers gather in an anonymous meeting to share their personal stories and listen to others in real time\, fostering solidarity\, honesty\, and hope among all participants\, and reinforcing the vital truth that no one struggles alone. This performance breaks the silence surrounding inner struggles often linked to negative body image\, disordered eating\, grief\, and other mental\, emotional\, and circumstantial challenges affecting one’s self-esteem\, identity\, and overall wellness. The process is both captivating and transformative\, emphasizing that the willingness to see\, hear\, be seen\, and be heard serves as the foundation for healing.  As an audience member\, you will be reminded that “I\, You\, We…Are Not Alone \nArt Crawl @ Swan Brewing on the shores of Lake Wire\nLakeland\, FL\nSunday\, November 9\, 2025\nPerformances: 11 am and 3 pm\nFree \n \n  \nThank you to our partners!

SUMMARY:HTLYS Virtual Workshop - Hosted by ERC
DESCRIPTION:How To Love Yourselfie (HTLYS) is an online social media literacy and eating disorders support prevention program with interactive videos and workbook created by Breaking The Chains Foundation (BTCF) Board/Celebrity Ambassador Jillian Rose Reed and co-created by BTCF Clinical Team. \nHTLYS is geared toward 15 to 22 year-olds and available for groups and individual usage. This research-based program comes with an HTLYS Facilitator Guide. Upon completion\, there is a short survey for participants. \n\nThis workshop has five (5) “selfie” modules with videos and worksheets per each module that provides awareness and critical thinking skills so young people can challenge what they see online as well as create more peace of mind for those who support them. While the program has two formats to choose from\, in this workshop\, BTCF President/Founder\, Debra Hopkins and Board Member Breanna Lynn\, MA\, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor will present an overview of the program and facilitate the one-hour short version of the program\, along with a Q and A. \nHTLYS is developed as a prevention program to provide additional support to those who are looking for support and education around positive body image\, self-esteem\, and social media literacy. This program is intended to support and aid in cultivating positive and reflective conversations around body image. This program is not intended to be used in lieu of eating disorder treatment with a medical\, clinical\, and/or nutritional provider. \nFollow up with your pediatrician or primary care doctor if you have concerns about eating disorder symptoms or treatment.
