Imani McGee Stafford is a professional basketball player who plays at the Center position for the Dallas Wings in the WNBA. She grew up in Los Angeles whereas basketball played a prominent role within her family roots. During Imani’s first year in college, she was named Big 12 Freshman of the Year and continued to create an outstanding college and professional career. She has been AP All-American, All Big 12 first Team, and 10th overall pick in the 2016 WBA draft, among many other amazing accomplishments. Imani has been pro since 2016 and currently taking a hiatus for law school!

BTCF had pleasure chatting with Imani. She is super intelligent, well-spoken, goal oriented, warm-hearted, focused, self-motivated, passionate, and compassionate person. Imani is also a very talented published poet. She has also been very open about the sexual abuse she experienced as a child, which lead to deep depression and attempted suicides in her younger life. Diagnosed with bi-polar disorder has not stopped Imani and her ability to shed light on her struggles and turn them into productive outreach to youth and many, many others.

He believes plating is a canvas for one to express yourself and use your imagination – there is no right or wrong and possibilities are endless, have fun, create shared experiences and memories with families and friends, having purpose that can be bold and exciting!

NOLA Chef Gason Nelson is a Global Cooking Instructor for ‘The Chef & The Dish’, a Private/Personal Chef/Owner/CEO of “Full of Flavor” in New Orleans, and a National Featured Chef in many publications and television programs, including Food Network’s ‘Chopped’, Readers Digest, Sports Illustrated, and New Orleans’s morning shows to name a few. He is a two-time James Beard Scholar and appeared in many noted festivals. Additionally, Chef Gason was also named Louisiana top 25 Best Chefs of 2017 and 2020. His clients include celebrities such as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Matthew McConaughey, Sinbad, the Kardashians, and NBA and NFL Players like Aaron Brooks, DeMarcus Cousins, Reggie Bush, Chris Paul, and Ben Watson. He is also a long-time supporter of Breaking The Chains Foundation!

INSIDE OUT: a movement and dance workshop for every body

Goals: To experience movement and dance as resources for connection and renewal.

Description: Join artists and sisters Devon and Alex on a facilitated experience (accompanied by music) during which you will give yourself permission to move freely, listen to your body and have fun. Dance and movement have been proven to calm the nervous system and cultivate resilience. Moving can also help us tap into a deeper, wise part of ourselves. Every Body is welcome, and no prior dance experience is needed.
