The 7 CHAIRS performance offers a powerful, vulnerable, revealing, and liberating experience. Through dance, seven performers gather in an anonymous meeting to share their personal stories and listen to others in real time, fostering solidarity, honesty, and hope among all participants, and reinforcing the vital truth that no one struggles alone. This performance breaks the silence surrounding inner struggles often linked to negative body image, disordered eating, grief, and other mental, emotional, and circumstantial challenges affecting one’s self-esteem, identity, and overall wellness. The process is both captivating and transformative, emphasizing that the willingness to see, hear, be seen, and be heard serves as the foundation for healing.
