J.J. Shegog

“Little children, you are from God, and have conquered them; for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in this world” – Jesus Christ of Nazareth

J.J. Shegog writes books about social emotional learning, inclusiveness, and good mental health practices for children. She is a Chicago, IL native; and before she started writing, J.J. Shegog got a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Spanish. Following that, because of her love for children, she went to graduate school where she obtained her graduate degree in elementary education. She is now the owner of Jair’s Collections and writes extensively. And a mommy too!

It was so exciting to come across JJ and her amazing work!  She is beyond a complete joy, kind, caring, full of life, determined, self-motivated, smart, engaging, and wonderful person.  Her first children’s book, “Now I’m Really Mad” has been featured and on sale at The Museum of African American History in Chicago. One of her 1st book signings was in Bloomington, IL where the mayor of the town read her book to the community.  She has been featured on various podcasts, statewide book fairs and magazines.  JJ is so special, her messages goes further than a story, she provides a wide range of resources for a child’s toolbox to learn continued emotional regulation and efficacy.  We look forward to seeing much more of JJ and her books!
